A signature Heathcote varietal, this Shiraz has a fabulous intensity of colour with rich sweet and concentrated aromas of black cherries and dark chocolate, palate is powerful yet elegant with seductive spicy oak balancing the intensity of fruit, youthful and vibrant. The wine may will benefit from decanting and being served at a cool room temperature. This is a young vibrant wine at present and it will benefit from some time in the cellar during which the flavours will integrate and the components soften. It will be very good drinking in five to eight years' time.
Comments
"Dense purple-crimson; a sumptuous, full-bodied wine that lights up every corner of the mouth with its almost wanton display of juicy blackberry, blackcurrant and all spice; it is not the least heavy, the tannins fine, the quality oak playing a pure support role. A great outcome for a vintage at the end of a long drought.' James Halliday 96/100.
